Light in the Attic Estates is proud to present this assortment of antique and vintage treasures from the historic Black Mountain College, Mountain Stream Lodge Estate. Auction features a beautiful assortment of antique furniture and collectibles from this beloved home. Originally constructed in 1925 by famous local developer E.W. Grove, Mountain Stream Lodge was used by Black Mountain College as the administration building and faculty housing during the 1930's-1950's, hosting such luminaries as Albert Einstein and Buckminster Fuller. It is even featured in Michael Rumaker's historical book, Black Mountain Days. After the closing of the school and the creation of Camp Rockmont in 1956 on the historic grounds, the building was used as an infirmary and offices until the Pickering family converted it to their family home in 1966. The Lodge has long been the energetic hub of Lake Eden, hosting many famous artists during the LEAF Festivals over the years as well as weddings and other groups for Lake Eden events & Lodgings over the years.
